Equivalent Load Calculator

Calculate equivalent dynamic load P = X·Fr + Y·Fa with automatic X/Y factor selection per ISO 281.

Input

Bearing type and applied loads.

X/Y factors are auto-selected from C0 and Fa/C0 per ISO 281. For angular contact bearings, enter contact angle if known.

Results

3.13kN
Equivalent dynamic load P
Fa / C0 0.115
Fa / Fr 0.320
Limiting factor e 0.30
X factor 0.56
Y factor 1.45
Axial active? Yes (Fa/Fr > e)
Branch: Fa/Fr ≤ e → only radial load considered. P = Fr.
Formula:
If Fa/Fr ≤ e: P = Fr
If Fa/Fr > e: P = X·Fr + Y·Fa

How it works: The equivalent dynamic load P combines radial and axial loads into a single load value for bearing life calculation. The X and Y factors depend on the ratio of axial load to static capacity (Fa/C0), which determines the limiting value e. When Fa/Fr exceeds e, the axial load significantly affects the bearing and must be included in the calculation. For cylindrical roller bearings (no axial capacity), P = Fr always. For precise angular contact calculations, use the manufacturer's catalogue X/Y tables for your specific contact angle.
