6200 Bearing Dimensions, Load Basics and Replacement Guide

7 min read · Updated 2026 · By NLHB Sales Team

The 6200 series is the most-cross-referenced standard deep-groove ball bearing in the world. If you buy deep-groove bearings for electric motors, fans, pumps, appliances or general machinery, you will encounter it. This guide covers the dimensions you actually need, the load basics, and what to check before placing a replacement order.

6200 series dimensions (the ones that matter)

All 6200 series bearings share the same proportions — only the bore changes with the last two digits. The pattern is XX × XX × XX mm (bore × outer × width).

ModelBore (d)Outer (D)Width (B)Approx weight
620010 mm30 mm9 mm32 g
620112 mm32 mm10 mm37 g
620215 mm35 mm11 mm45 g
620317 mm40 mm12 mm65 g
620420 mm47 mm14 mm110 g
620525 mm52 mm15 mm130 g

Values shown are for the open variant. ZZ (metal shield) and 2RS (rubber seal) variants share the same envelope dimensions.

Seal variants you'll encounter

Before ordering, check what your equipment actually uses. If the original is a 2RS and you order a ZZ, the bearing may fail early in a wet or dusty environment.

Load ratings — what the numbers mean

Every 6200 bearing has two key load ratings:

For a typical 6203-2RS: Cr ≈ 9.5 kN, C0r ≈ 4.5 kN. These numbers vary slightly by manufacturer and steel grade. Don't compare load ratings across brands without checking the test standard.

Replacement — what to verify before you order

  1. Confirm the dimensions — measure bore, outer and width with calipers. The stamped number can be wrong if the bearing has been replaced before.
  2. Identify the seal type — visible metal shield = ZZ, visible rubber lip = 2RS, nothing visible = open.
  3. Note the brand — if it's an SKF 6203-2RS, the exact same model from NSK, NTN or FAG will match dimensionally. We declare these as "compatible references", not "authorized equivalents".
  4. Check the clearance — C3 is the most common default for electric motors. If you don't know, C3 is usually safe.
  5. Confirm quantity — for replacement, you usually want a small spare batch; for production, ask for the annual demand estimate.

Common mistakes buyers make
