LFR Series Guide Rail Track Roller Bearings
Two-point 60° contact track rollers for cylindrical and U-profile guide rails
What Is an LFR Series Track Roller Bearing?
The LFR series track roller bearing is the standard, most widely used linear guide roller in the LFR family. It is engineered around a two-point 60° contact geometry that mates cleanly with either cylindrical rails or U-profile guide rails, delivering smooth motion, low running error, very low noise, and high operating speed.
Thanks to its robust double-row angular contact ball construction with a thickened outer ring (the running surface), the LFR series handles high radial loads while keeping friction and wear low. It is the go-to choice for automation equipment, conveyor systems, packaging machinery, and countless other linear-motion applications where economy, reliability, and interchangeability matter.

Selection Guide
Choosing the right LFR track roller comes down to four questions:
- Rail type. LFR rollers are designed for cylindrical rails and U-profile rails with a 60° contact angle. For flat (plane) rails, choose the SG series with Gothic-arch four-point contact instead.
- Radial load vs. life. Match the required basic dynamic load rating (Cr) to your duty cycle. Larger-OD rollers (LFR5206, LFR5207, LFR5208) carry substantially higher Cr and C0r for heavy conveying loads.
- Speed. Smaller sizes such as LFR50/4 reach up to 21,000 r/min; larger sizes (LFR5208, LFR5308) are limited to roughly 2,300–2,500 r/min. Pick KDD sealing when high speed matters.
- Environment. Use NPP rubber seals in dusty, humid, or wash-down settings; select stainless steel for food, pharma, or corrosive atmospheres.
When in doubt, an eccentric-bushing variant lets you dial in clearance at installation, which is invaluable for multi-roller carriages on long rails.

Cross-Reference & Interchangeability
The LFR series follows a widely used naming convention for linear guide track rollers with a 60° gothic-style outer profile. Within that convention, LFR rollers are generally interchangeable with equivalent INA / Schaeffler and SKF track roller series of the same envelope dimensions, and compete dimensionally with counterparts from NSK, NTN, and FAG compact-track-roller ranges. Use the bore (d), outer diameter (D), and width (C) values from the table above to confirm a drop-in match before ordering.
| Reference | Typical Equivalent |
|---|---|
| INA | Track roller / supporting roller series matching dw–D–C envelope |
| SKF | Track roller series (stud-type and yoke-type) by dimension |
| NSK / NTN / FAG | Compact cam follower / track roller ranges by dimension |
Always verify the full dimension set and load ratings against the manufacturer’s current catalogue before specifying a replacement.
Installation
Eccentric Bushing Mounting (Adjustable Clearance)
- Fit the eccentric bushing onto the stud/shaft.
- Rotate the bushing to set the clearance between the roller and the rail.
- Tighten and lock the retaining screw.
- Check that motion is smooth and free of binding.
Concentric Stud Mounting (Fixed Clearance)
- Install the concentric stud onto the shaft.
- Fix directly — no clearance adjustment needed.
- Use where the required accuracy is already established.

FAQ
Q: What is the difference between the LFR series and the SG series?
A: LFR rollers are made for cylindrical or U-profile rails and use two-point 60° contact — the most widely used, economical option. SG rollers are built for flat (plane) rails and use Gothic-arch four-point contact, making them more compact and precise.
Q: Should I choose KDD or NPP seals?
A: KDD metal shields suit clean, high-speed applications thanks to low friction. NPP rubber seals are better in dusty or humid environments where dust and water exclusion matter more than a few extra rpm.
Q: What is the difference between eccentric and concentric mounting?
A: An eccentric bushing lets you adjust the roller-to-rail clearance at installation, ideal for fine-tuning multi-roller carriages. A concentric stud gives a fixed clearance with simpler installation, suited to designs where the accuracy requirement is already defined.
Q: Can LFR rollers be used in high-speed applications?
A: Yes. With low rolling resistance, small sizes such as LFR50/4 and LFR50/5 reach up to 21,000 r/min and 15,000 r/min respectively, making them well suited to high-speed linear motion.
